''The Look Out'' Goldfinch in Coloured pencils

As you can see I have had another go with the coloured pencils, this is the morphing of two different photo's taken in my back garden, still need to practice more as they are completely different to the good old graphite's I'm used to... drawing is approx 11 x 4 inches, drawn on Mellotex,

Thanks Brenda, they do take some getting used too, I'm thinking of calling this ''The Look Out''

Looks good Grahame but Mellotex is not the best surface to use with cps as there just isn't enough tooth to build up the layers (so important with cps

I love Mellotex for graphite work but you would be better using something like Fabriano Classico HP or even pastelmat for cps

Look forward to seeing some of your work at next years UK Coloured Pencil Society exhibitions then?? :-)

Hi Sue, Thanks for your comments, I agree that Mellotex is not the best surface, I have HP paper and tried it out first but couldnt get used to the fluffing up result, it may be down to lack of practice etc plus i'm so used to Mellotex, any suggestions would be appreciated... who knows I may be there see how the next few drawing go...
