Orangutan finished

For my first attempt with coloured pencils, I'm reasonably pleased with this little drawing 4x3 inches, hopefully the next one will be better as I learn from the mistakes made with this. The one thing I'm not happy with is the paper, I was told it was for coloured pencils but as your layering the colour on it tends to fluff up so it's back to the Bristol board for the next one.

Grahame!!!!!! For a first color piece you did a bang up job...Looks fantastic. Paper GRRRR I will tell you that I found Watercolor paper holds up best to all the layering needed for CPs...just my tip for the day!!!!
Great Job! Love his expression

Graham this is a brilliant first go with the colours. Have you given up on the graphite?

Hi Grahame, nice to meet you. Love this, made me chuckle. He looks very mischievous to me! I use daler Rowney acrylic paper for CP. It slides on, (and off, if necessary) very nicely.
