Tabby WIP

Just an update on where I am with the new drawing, slow progress due to other work commitments, hope to have this finished by the weekend and then onto a commission order...

The fur is terrific and amazing being that it is the complicated tabby pattern, but how long did you spend on the eyes? Those iris's are terrific!

Beautiful work Grahame! It reminds me of my own cat frisky who sadly passed away last July!

Love the fur and those eyes are great. A lot of lovely detail.

Thanks Brenda, this is nmy first drawing of a domastic cat and I thought the pattern might make it easier to show form....Doh!! I have spent a few hours on the eyes these are always my starting point, each eye must be a good 2 hours and I tend to go back to them as the drawing developes to add more depth, the iris is drawn with a 8b and then I use a 2h, hb, and 2b to build up the rest of the eye.
